Forest has worked as a researcher for the Rural Development Institute of Brandon Manitoba, there he performed research on a wide variety of topics pertaining to rural development and rural society. His Masters Thesis was on "Hemp Production in Manitoba as a Rural Development Tool". The "Plants for a Future" database is a continual inspiration for Forest.
